Frequently Asked Questions


1. IS OUR PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?
Most of our packaging is recyclable (cartons, polypropylene wrap, and polystyrene tray), but it is hard to find centers to accept wrap and the trays. We use these particular supplies because they protect the product best and have less bulk in a landfill if not recycled.

2. HOW MANY COOKIES IN A TRAY?
All Fat-Free, Organic, Reduced-Fat: 9 cookies per tray. Fruit-Juiced sweetened: 15 cookies per tray except all macaroons which have 12.

3. WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF COOKIES?
Shelf life of all our cookies is 6 months.

4. HOW DO YOU READ THE CODE DATES?
Our date codes vary depending on the cookie. Our products in cartons (Organic and 3 Reduced-Fat will have an expiration date on the end flap. Example: OOAUG23EXP.
Our Fat-Free, 3 Reduced-Fat and Monster cookies in printed film will have a date on the film. Example: SELL BY JUL 2100.

5. WHAT STORES CARRY YOUR COOKIES IN OUR AREA?
We sell direct to distributors who in turn sell to the individual stores. We have provided a list of our distributors in the United States. They would be able to help you answer that question. You can click here to see the entire distributors list.

6. HOW DOES THE BAKING COMPANY OF UKIAH FEEL
ABOUT GMO?
The Baking Company of Ukiah has discussed this concern with all of our ingredient suppliers and we are confident that our products are GMO-FREE. We recognize the importance of this issue and have made every attempt to secure all the information available on ingredients we are using in our products. We will continue to monitor this issue for any future information on newly approved GMO crops and obtain information as needed.

7. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CO-PACKAGING AND PRIVATE LABEL?
These are two words for the same thing. Co-Packaging and Private Label mean that we take your recipe, prepare it for mass production, and package them under your Private Label. You handle your own marketing and distribution deals, we handle producing the cookies. Mrs. Denson has helped to launch over 20 Private Labels in the last 20 years, and almost all of those cookies have steadily increased in sales.
